So this was it. What it felt like to be a married man. It was positively wonderful. After months and months of waiting. Days of planning, exchanging, torturous affairs, and having to hide their secrets for so very long, it was done. Just like that. It had taken a lot of work, and a lot of self control on Nathan's part, but he had gotten through it. And look at the outcome! He was a man, with a wife, and soon he would be out of this ridiculous affair of a party and off to the actual celebration. He never thought this day would come, but he was happy that he and Kaitlin could finally just be. He took his wife by her arm, very gently so, smiled down at her lovely face in her bright wedding dressings, and guided her to the dance floor. They started a nice waltz, and he made sure to wear he courtly smile on his face, even though he was truly happy, but he didn't want to look so excited it was simply indecent. And that he was.
He leaned down and whispered into Kaitlin-Rose's ear as the glided across the floor. "Let's see, how many hours has this party gone on? Four? Five? I'm tired of it, and only wait until we can be together alone. Please tell me you do think as I do?"

Kaitlin-Rose Brown was ever so excited. For one, she had a husband, two the night promised many happy things to come, and three she was married before her older sister. She felt like rubbing it in her face. Kaitlin-Rose, the failure of the family, had wed. Not just any old beggar man for that. She married Nathan Brown. A man of status, title, and oh so many good looks. Tonight seemed to drag on, however. The ceremony had been lovely. So many flowers and decorations made the chapel look exhilarating.
She had been looking very beautiful as well. Her long chestnut hair had been combed and curled into an elaborate up due. Her eyes were bright and highlighted by the slightest charcoal. Her cheeks had a hint of color, and her lips were like a rose. Her body was covered in elaborate white silk and satin. Lined with diamonds and pearls. She felt like the Queen, herself. Though it was always impossible to out shine Her Majesty. She looked into the dark eyes of her husband and smiled.
Kaitlin wondered what he was thinking about. She was thinking, of course, about what would happen later on that night. The party was lovely, but it just seemed to drag on. Surely the wedded couple got to leave early? She was tired of putting on an act. She wanted to be herself, with Nathan. Alone. Together they circled the floor of the great hall smiling at each other. Though, even their smiles were an act. Neither could look as they really felt, which was the happiest they'd been in for a long time. No, they had to act polite and courteous to each other. She hated it. Like wearing a plastic smile to her husband, one who knew her better than anyone else.
His deep soothing voice filled her ears when he leaned down and murmured his thoughts. She couldn't help, but put on a genuine smile and pull him ever so slightly closer to her. She did wish to be alone with him. That's all she wanted. Them together, alone. Soon they would get their own apartment. For a family with such a stature as they were, they would surely have their own place to live. Away from her parents. Away from her sister. "I want nothing more than to be with you. Alone. Away from these people. Just being in your arms." she murmured back. Her voiced oozed with seduction and wanting. She wanted him. She needed him. Or else she just might loose it.

Nathan twirled her into the air, simply following the dance steps he'd known all year, the new fashion of dancing, the new way to run around the floor and pretend that it meant something besides simply false pleasantry. He set her steadily and gracefully down on her shoes again, and he sighed, a smile still on his face. He looked around at the others. All dancing, not a single person sitting. The King and Queen were here, and everything seemed perfectly in order. But he was already tired of it. This was not marriage. This was not important at all. Kaitlin meant the world to him, and that's all he wanted. How he would love to take her off to the country, just be with her there. But that was out of the question.
"We could leave now, you know. Noone is paying attention to us. Everyone's near well drunk enough for us to slip away, if you wouldn't mind." He let a small smirk play abotu his mouth. "But of course I wouldn't want to tear you away from this important affair. I know how much fun you're having. What do you say? Think we could manage it?"

Kaitlin was pleasantly shocked when Nathan picked her up and twirled her around. It was not something most men did, especially not in public. Her smile grew wider then was proper but she didn't care. She was a married woman. She was married to the most amazing man she had ever known. Her hand subtly tightened around his as they continued to dance around the great hall. She saw her own eyes sparkle in the reflection of her husbands. This had to be the best day of her life.
She gracefully turned her long neck looking at those in the great hall still. Nathan was right. No one would see them disappear. They were all dancing and laughing and drunk. Her father one of the drunk ones. Then again, who could blame him? It was a wedding after all. She also saw her sister shooting her looks. Not very nice looks at that. Kaitlin couldn't help but give a slight smile her direction. She was married before her older sister. It had to be the highlight of this marriage. Well, besides being happily married to the most amazing man in the kingdom, who loved her for simply being her.
Kaitlin titled her mouth towards Nathan's ear. Softly she started to speak. "You are right. No one would notice us leave. Frankly, I myself am tired of this charade. I am tired and wish to retire to our own living quarters. The one made just for you and me." A soft smile spread across her lips. They both knew what was coming tonight. They had been waiting since the time they had met. It would be a lie to say that she wasn't excited. She was indeed ready for what the night was to bring.

Nathan smiled down at her, lost in her scent, lost in her beauty. Lost with a passion to get out of here, and soon. He laughed softly at her, "Well, if you are so ready to get out of this charade, we should go." He took her hand, the dance was done, and began to walk quickly toward the entrance to the room, he took her through the atrium, and into the hallway. He led the way up a flight of stairs. But on the fourth step, he stopped. He looked at her. Things were moving quickly, but that's how they should have. He had no complaints. Nathan smiled again, stepped down to her, and kissed her rose like lips, with their lovely shape, and their soft feeling. "If you're eager, then I am not quite sure how I feel is altogether healthful." He grinned, took her hand again and took her up to his room.
