Perfect... just perfect, Ophelia thought as she wandered through the forest. Although it had never been a favourite place of hers, she recently began to find it comforting- the smell of the spruce trees, the smell of the earth in general... Never had she even dreamed that one day she would be walking -barefoot, at that- though such a place without an escort. At this, she sighed to herself and wrapped her meager shawl around her shoulders more tightly. It was getting darker, and with the setting of the sun came the chilled night air that liked to nip at any exposed flesh.
She had just found out that the woman she'd had then encounter with in the dungeons was to be married to some other man whom she'd never heard of (and didn't care to hear about), and she knew what that meant... It meant that she would have to serve at the festivities. Being who she was, Ophelia had always been on the receiving end of a servant's duties; that was to say, she'd never before carried them out. However, her position at the moment didn't permit for her excuse from the celebrations.
As she continued walking into the woods, Ophelia bitterly muttered to herself about her husband, the stupid people of the castle... whomever she could think of, really. "I could have been living high and fine right now! I'd have three cats, a horse and a pig and I'd be happy," she said, each word a blade that she imagined would prick into all of the castle's people and leave her to be by herself, like she wished she were.
Now that Ophelia stopped to think about it, she was very much alone in the forest. She knew her way back- that wasn't a problem at all, and she thought for a moment as she sat on a large, nearby rock of what would befall her should she stay there the night. "Surely nobody would care a smidge if I were to simply vanish from their perfect little castle... well, hardly little," she added after thinking about what she'd said for a minute. It was at that precise moment that Ophelia decided that she was going to remain in the forest for the night and see what happened. She knew that she'd be glad if some sort of creature were to happen upon her and eat her up like she'd heard of wolves doing in silly little fairy tales.
With a little sigh, Ophelia padded around in the almost-dark to find a soft patch of grass, laid down and draped her shawl over her. Within minutes, she was asleep and dreaming a most wonderful dream about riches... and something that involved her being Queen...
