Kaitlin hurried inside to comply with Nathan's wishes. She could tell from the strain of his voice, and the clenching of his fists that he was upset and scared. He had every right to be. She had almost gotten herself killed, and, well, he loved her. Like she loved him. If she ever lost Nathan...her life would be over. She wouldn't know where to turn or what to do. He was what kept her going these days. Whenever she felt like ending things and leaving, she thought of him. Whenever she felt like sinking to her knees and crying, she thought about him. She had to be strong. She couldn't give up now.
Kaitlin made her way through the eerily quite castle and into Nathan's apartment, praying that his family would be asleep. They did need to talk about their current situation. It couldn't go avoided any longer. Threat of discovery prodded them every day. It was what kept her up at night. Tossing and turning with restlessness or nightmares. She saw vividly in her nightmares them being torn apart. She tried to hold onto him, but her father ripped her off his arm and thrusted her back. She could feel the tears on her cheeks after she awoke sobbing of the horror of that happening.
Kaitlin look a deep breath and clasped her hands behind her back. She just needed to calm down. She was over reacting. Her and Nathan would talk about what to do tonight and in a day or two, they would sit both of their parents down, together, and tell them of their love. Surely they would understand. Wouldn't they? She knew Nathan didn't want to be married yet. She could see it in his eyes. The contempt he felt when ever they talked about it showed vividly. She couldn't help but wonder if he wanted to be with her forever.
Like most girls her age, marriage was becoming important. She had to start courting, and had to think seriously about who she could see herself with. Whenever she closed her eyes and pictured her wedding, all she saw was Nathan standing at the altar. Her hands in his, reciting their vows to each other. Pronouncing their love to each other and everyone else who would come to the celebration. She sighed happily, her eyes far off and dreamy. She loved him so much.
