Brief personality description: Claire is sly, and however much she might claim to be a spy for the queen, and only the queen, her main concern is herself and her own safety.
Job, or status of character in the castle: Spy, but for who? only she knows. She masquerades as a servant girl so as to accumulate as much knowledge as possible.
