``THE CHAIN REACTION!
Welcome to the universe of Emelan. A place that has become known for it's gruesome murders, plagues, earth quakes, forest fires, raiders, pirate attacks and worst of all it's mages. Known to bring help and life to the surrounding community, Mages have brought more than their fair share of trouble to the surrounding lands. Some can control the weather in such a manner, they killed an entire pirate fleet. People have claimed to be held hostage for hours on end by plants, of all things! These mages are running amok, and it's time their power over the surrounding folk be brought to an end says some. Yet, mages are their line of defense.. and while arguments are running through the lands to banish or hang the mages that have for so long happened.. something strange is happening.
Mages have slowly been disappearing or dying, not a wisp or a word as to where they went or what had happened to them. It's not the children or student mages either that have yet fallen to this disturbance, it's older mages-- mages known as great mages at that; ones the strongest in their craft. With loss of their higher ups, Temples have fallen into turmoil as they try reorganizing themselves all with the same fear running through their minds: who will be next? Any Great Mages and Healers left have started the work towards finding the keys to what may be causing it, but with no traces left of disease or brutal death on the bodies they have they are left at standstill. Are they all to really just hold their breath as they are picked off?
The world outside of that of mages have begun to either mourn or rejoice of the loss of people that many times created them so much trouble. They go about their normal lives, thinking that they are unaffected by the aliments that are striking the surrounding mages. Of course, this is not the truth. As each mage disappears, something happens to the surrounding lands. Earthquakes, tsunamis, droughts and random storms? Have all come to recently find themselves good friends with the people in the lands. While the Syth is supposed to bring bitter winds that freeze anything in its path, the people of Namorn are found in scorching heat. The world has turned topsy-turvey, and it's only getting worse as the mage slowly trickle away. People are being forced to watch lands that once flourished turn into desserts, losing crops the lands depend on.
Now it seems the time has come to find what is happening to their world. It's not just the mages that are losing some now, and if it keeps up, they will all suffer or worse.. die. However, while some try to find a way to help, there are those who find now the greatest time to launch full blown attacks on countries in turmoil. However, there are seem to be more stepping out of the crowds many have come to help: surviving Mages, Temple Dedicates, Merchants, Pirates, even Traders and Street Rats alike have joined the fight. All with one question coming to mind: What will come of them next? Suffering from that of a Chain Reaction ?
