Waiting quietly was James Kessel. He stood patiently outside of the King's bedchamber, waiting to be called to run some sort of errand or do some sort of task. He was dressed in his same plain and simple, and very basic clothes, and had a mediocre feeling of dull contentment for an attitude. It really was quite a boring day. Not boring actually, simply rather normal. Even monotonous.
This was how it had been for the last few days. Same old usual routine. Nothing dramatic or out of the ordinary. In a way, it made James a little antsy, and in a way, it made him relieved. It was nice to take a timeout from the usual turmoil for once. But he doubted it would last.
So he waited, feeling annoyingly useless at the moment. It felt strange not to be off doing something or working. Anyone else would've decided that nothing was going on and gone off to loll around on their own, but James knew that the second he did he would be called back immediately, having left at the exact time he was needed. That was just the way his luck worked. He didn't exactly mind either.
Staring off down a corridor, he wished desperately not to be standing around looking lazy. It was one of his fears, for lack of a better discription. He didn't want anyone to think that. Please he thought, please, just let them need me for something soon, please.
